The fight in the kitchen was probably the only new change I liked.Ĭharacters Kenshin: Overall ok, the hair was off, and they should have used another actor to play him at age 14 Kaoru: Good casting, maybe too cute and whiny for Kaoru though Yahiko: Good casting, maybe a bit to skinny Sanosuke: A bit too short and bulky with an old rusty piece of iron Megumi: She should be more sultry/mature but not a bad job Haanyan: Terrible. Makoto Shishio, a former assassin like Kenshin, was betrayed, set on fire and left for dead. But when he meets the gentle Tomoe Yukishiro, his story begins to change. There were several other changes that were done better in the anime. Before he was a protector, Kenshin was a fearsome assassin known as Battosai. This is the last time he is seen in the film, but in the manga Enishi is a witness to his sisters deathan incident he misinterprets, which then becomes his reason to live as he spends the next. One example, why did they change Megumi's parent's backstory, or why couldn't Kenshin just cut off the handle of the gattling gun like in the anime. They change a lot of the story for no damn good reason. Here are our rankings for the five live-action Rurouni Kenshin films, listed from worst to best. It might be a funny scene, movie quote, animation, meme or a mashup of multiple sources.
My main complaints come from knowing the series. You can take any video, trim the best part, combine with other videos, add soundtrack. If you want to watch the anime, movies and manga getting the whole story without any repetition or fillers I would do the followingĪnime 01-11, 19-21, 23-24, 28-62, Manga 152-164, Trust and Betrayal, Manga 180-255, Reflections Before becoming a protector, Kenshin is a fearsome assassin known as Battosai, but his story changes when he meets the gentle Tomoe Yukishiro. With Takeru Satoh, Kasumi Arimura, Ysuke Eguchi, Kazuki Kitamura. Samurai X Reflections: Not cannon, but I enjoyed it (and cried) Rurouni Kenshin: Final Chapter Part II - The Beginning: Directed by Keishi Otomo. Samurai X Trust and Betrayal: 10/10 amazing Manga: Good but not great, I think the anime does a great job animating the fights (especially the Shisio arc, very fluid animation) and showing how powerful/fast Kenshin is.
I just recently finished watching the entire series (first time), rereading the manga, and rewatching all 3 Movies.Īnime show : The good parts: 1, 2, 4, 5, 28-62
